What is PNF stretching?
PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) is a hands-on stretching method. Your practitioner moves a muscle into a stretch, you gently push against their resistance for a few seconds, then relax as they take the stretch a little further. Repeating this helps the muscle release, so you move further than you could on your own.
How does assisted stretching help prevent injuries?
Muscle tightness and imbalances are a common cause of injury. Assisted stretching improves flexibility and range of motion and works on those imbalances, so it helps prevent injuries before they happen, and it speeds recovery by relieving tension and improving how you move.
What is an assisted stretch session like?
Sessions last 30 minutes. You lie on a treatment table while your practitioner works through the areas you need most, and acoustic wave therapy can be added to the session.
